Detailed Narrative Description of Project & Services provided:
DCE is providing Design review and construction management services for the Chicago Union Station and Lake Street interlocking rehabilitation project, the first modern high speed railway system. The replacement of Lake Street interlocking in Chicago union Station involves the replacement and reconfiguration of the existing track and signal system. The interlocking system includes the replacement of existing track configuration with new configuration, installation, new microprocessor housing for the interlocking and interlocking remote control system.
Activities of this Project:
- Preparation of construction Staging plan
- Preparation of construction sequence with respect to train operation
- Cost and Schedule control
- Management of man power & resource allocation
- Construction quality control review
- Railroad inspection and testing
- Construction safety and community relation
- Construction supervision of track works, signal and communication systems
- Coordination with US Rail operation and construction contractors for rail operations
